What is a Chevrolet Traverse?
1. On the 118.9” Lambda platform,
shared with the Buick Enclave, the 3-row Chevrolet Traverse with a 3.6 V6 210
kW engine arrived in October 2008 in the United States and was exported in
left-hand-drive form to Japan (until 2011). Japanese specifications adopted auxiliary
side fender mirrors based on automobile regulations.
2. The second generation Chevrolet
Traverse on the 120.9” C1 platform
came in Summer 2017 in the United States, now with 231 kW. A 2-litre 190 kW turbo engine was offered on
this 150 kg lighter car until 2019, when it was canceled because its highway
fuel consumption was the same as the V6, although it consumes about 1 l/100 km
less fuel in the city. The V6 was
exported to South Korea since September 2019.
3. The third generation Chevrolet
Traverse is expected in the first quarter of 2024 in the United States on the
upgraded C1 platform and will be fitted with a 235 kW 2.5 4-cylinder turbo
engine. It will also be built in China
as a hybrid electric vehicle with a 155 kW 2-litre engine. The overall length in China will be just
under 520 cm, the width 202 cm or 203 cm for the four-wheel-drive. Wheel sizes will be 18, 20, or 22 inch.
All
Traverses are front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive crossovers.
Net
output data are approximate.
