What is a Buick Enclave?
1. On the 118.9” Lambda platform,
shared with the Chevrolet Traverse, the Buick Enclave arrived in Summer 2007
and was exported with the direct injection High Feature 3.6 engine from
November 2008 to China, where sales stopped in March 2019. Seating: 2-2-3, optional 2-3-3 in North
America.

2. The second generation American Buick
Enclave on the 120.9” C1XX platform arrived in Fall 2017, and was denied to
China, due to its size (length nearly 520 cm, width over 200 cm). Seating:
2-2-3. Buick is advertising the
third row center in-between-seat to be used for car pooling.

3. The Chinese Buick Enclave, now
produced here and with its own body, arrived in November 2019 and shares its
112.7” (2863 mm) C1 platform and the 2-litre LSY engine
with the Chevrolet Blazer and Cadillac XT6.

Blazer: 2-3-2, Cadillac XT6: 2-2-2, opt. 2-2-3.
All
Enclaves are front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive crossovers.
Buick Enclave (G66) China: November 2019
While the
first, imported Enclave (Angkelei), at a price of 529,000 RMB (twice the
price of a LaCrosse) sold some 24,000 units in China up to the 2012 model year
(vs some 200,000 in the United States), with diminishing sales afterwards
(2,566 in 2012, 2,218 in 2013), the new 299,900 RMB seven-seat Enclave (Angkeqi)
and six-seat Enclave Avenir started at a monthly sales level of over 3,000
units. In August 2021, the 48V mild hybrid system was added. In July 2022 came a six-seat four-wheel drive
model in the regular line. Over 21,000
were sold in 2022, and 12,000 in 2023.
